Members of media organizations who didn’t flatter Donald Trump enough caused him to try to deny their Constitutional rights. Journalists from CNN, MSNOW, and Politico were banned from entering The People’s House as Trump attempted to keep certain Americans from witnessing his brand of democracy in action. He said those reporters were “corrupt” and were a “threat to our national security.” In protest of the president’s violation of American’s First Amendment rights, shared pool coverage of Trump was suspended by several television networks, including Trump’s favorite, FOX News.
During a three-day summit, America’s self-proclaimed top deal-maker wanted to be able to selectively choose who could watch his meeting and dinner with the leader of China, who is also General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party. Certain correspondents were prevented from covering the lack of progress made between the two frenemies on the topics of Taiwan, the war between the United States and Iran, and artificial intelligence. Members of the media were boycotted, but Apple’s Tim Cook, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Nvidia president Jensen Huang, SpaceX’s Elon Musk, and Open AI chief executive Sam Altman were allowed to attend the dinner.
According to reporters who were allowed to attend, in the controversial Constitution-shredding meeting, Trump said lots of nice things about Xi despite his record of human rights violations. It’s most likely because Xi is tall. Trump is obsessed with Xi’s stature.
In reaction to Trump’s pandering, Xi said he’d give America two pandas. In Trump’s brain, perhaps that makes up for the fact that Xi’s China is assisting Iran in the war with the United States that Trump started unnecessarily.
James Madison couldn’t have possibly imagined scenarios as crazy as the ones Donald Trump has been creating when he drafted the initial language for amendments. But the Constitution was written with tyrannical leaders like Donald Trump in mind. Trump and his supporters want Americans to believe that Democratic Socialists are the ones who will destroy America if they are allowed to freely participate in government. Despite Trump’s tyrannical efforts, some members of the press are still able to freely speak and deliver the news that Founding Fathers were right about the security of American democracy being dependent on respect for the Constitution—without it, Trump is destroying America.
